Regenerated electrode, also known as regenerated graphite carbon rod. The regenerated graphite electrode can be produced by using the processing and cutting debris or waste products of graphite materials as raw materials, which are crushed and do not need graphitization treatment. The ash content of such electrodes is less than 1%, and the electrical conductivity is slightly worse than that of artificial graphite electrodes, and the resistivity is about 1.5 times that of graphite electrodes.
Difference between regenerated graphite electrode and graphite electrode:
1. There are differences in raw materials and production process. The regenerated graphite electrode is prepared by taking the recovered artificial graphite scrap and powder as raw materials, adding coal tar pitch, kneading, molding, roasting and machining. Graphite electrode refers to a kind of high-temperature graphite conductive material made of petroleum coke and asphalt coke as aggregates and coal tar pitch as binder through raw material calcination, crushing and grinding, batching, kneading, molding, roasting, impregnation, graphitization and mechanical processing. It is called artificial graphite electrode (graphite electrode for short).

2. Performance difference. The density of regenerated graphite electrode is higher than that of graphite electrode, which is 1.7 and 1.58 respectively; Compared with the graphite electrode rod, the regenerated graphite electrode has higher resistivity, poor performance index and poor conductivity. In the field with strict requirements on resistance, the graphite electrode should be used.
3. Differences in application fields. At present, the regenerated graphite electrode is mainly used in the production of refractory materials. The regenerated graphite carbon rod is more durable when it is used to make furnace holes. It has high temperature resistance and low price. For stirring the solution, regenerated graphite carbon rod can also be selected, which has good corrosion resistance. For example, in the battery, the electrode acts as a medium to generate redox reaction with the electrolyte solution. However, when used in smelting process, the regenerated graphite carbon rod cannot replace the graphite electrode. At present, the graphite electrode is usually used in the production of electric furnace steel and industrial silicon.
