The maintenance of the taphole of the high-carbon ferromanganese submerged arc furnace is mainly operated from the following three aspects:
1. Make mud balls according to the size of the tap hole. The new eye uses white clay mixed with coke powder, and the middle and late furnace eye uses 62% white clay mixed with 38% crushed electrode paste to make mud balls;
2. The taphole always maintains a conical shape with a large outer section and a small cross-section. After each out of the furnace, the launder should be cleaned, and the furnace eye should be blocked and solid, leaving a margin;
3. Regularly invert the eye, seal the eye tightly, and ensure the quality of the eye repair.
