Raw material composition of self-baking electrode

The raw materials for making electrode paste are calcined anthracite and metallurgical coke as aggregates, and pitch and tar as binders. Among them, it is required that the ash content of anthracite is less than 8%, the volatile content is less than 5%, the sulfur content is low, the specific resistance is greater than 1000_uΩ·m, and the thermal strength index is greater than 60%. Anthracite needs to be calcined at a high temperature above 1200°C to remove volatile matter.

Raw material composition of self-baking electrode

The ash content of metallurgical coke is required to be less than 14%, the softening point of pitch is 60~75℃, the ash content is less than 0.3%, the moisture content is not more than 0.5%, the volatile matter is 60%~65%, and the free carbon content is not more than 20%~28%. . It is required that the density of tar is 1.16~1.20g/cm3, the moisture content is not more than 2.0%, the ash content is not more than 0.2%, and the free carbon content is not more than 9%. Anthracene oil, a tar fraction, can also be used to adjust the softening point.
